I visited several “best” bars in Seoul and lounges and had yet to be satisfied. Even hotel lounges that charge 25 dollars a drink had nothing more special than a skilled bartender strictly adhering to cocktail recipe list.
This weekend, I found the place that offers the best selection and quality of all drinks.
The place is Coffee Bar K in Cheongdam-dong.

Moet Hennessy is introducing a new line of Belvedere, premium-grade vodka well-known amongst clubbers and bar-goers of the world this July. Belvedere 1X is Belvedere Pure’s fashionable twin, targeting high-end consumers in the trendiest clubs around the world. Belvedere 1X is a blended vodka made from 9 different flavors including guarana, eucalytus, black cherry, ginseng and etc. Moet Hennessy aims to set a new standard in vodka market, calling their newest line of Belvedere “prestige-grade” vodka.
The electric pink graffiti design imposed on black background definitely screams everything club-and-lounge. Andre, the designer behind Louis Vuitton Monogram conceptualized the bottle as well as Belvedere 1X’s character, Mr. 1X (see after the jump.)
I actually got a chance to taste it. The one I had was 100 proof (50% by alcohol volume), but commercial version of 1X will be 80 proof. When I drank it chilled it was a fuse of herbal blast of energy and pink lasers.

Diamond Dealer from South Africa came to Seoul last Saturday to rock the crowd! 500 shots of Jagermeister was given out for free throughout the night. People partied hard and definitely danced their night away. Yet another great party at Club Function.

Every first Thursday there is an Afterwork party for professionals to drop by in a meet & greet event over a glass or two of champagne. June Afterwork party was sponsored by G.H. Mumm, and a magnum Mumm champagne bottle was given out in a raffle.

My sources tell me that there are some major changes happening to the club scene in Seoul, besides the fact that Club Circle is undergoing renovation. I do hope Circle remains competitive after its facelift, and let’s see if they will go by the same name when it opens again…

Gangnam area is definitely where the night life is at. As a matter of fact, I would segment Seoul night life into four main areas: Gangnam (station, 강남역 부근), Apgujeong Rodeo/Cheongdam-dong area (압구정 로데오/청담동), Itaewon (이태원) and Hongdae (홍대).
Of course there are also awesome places like Garosugil, Shinsa (신사동 가로수길), Seorae Ma’eul, Bangbae/Banpo (반포/방배동 서래마을) Insadong (인사동), Samchung-dong (삼청동) and etc., but in this Review series I will write about clubs in Gangnam.

For the longest time I was on the mission to find the best mojitos in Seoul. All I wanted was a perfectly prepared glass of mojito with fresh mint leaves and lime. I’ve ordered mojitos in a dozen or so bars that are supposedly famous – some rather disappointing and some very pleasantly suprising.
Here are some bars and lounges I checked out that were rather decent (I won’t even mention all the crappy ones I’ve tasted in clubs and cheap bars).

Dear Chocolate is a chocolatier with a kicking interior. Apparently they won three designer awards for interior decor. Really looks like you are walking in a trendy gallery.
